460 athletes already in Kazan for Fina worlds

There are three days left before the start of the 2015 FINA World Championships. By this time 460 athletes from China, Kazakhstan, Japan, Turkmenistan, Italy, Great Britain, North Korea, the Netherlands, Mexico, Yemen, Russia, Switzerland, Australia, France, Colombia, Hungary and other countries have already arrived in Kazan. 2,651 athletes from 190 countries of the world are going to take part in the 16th FINA World Championships.

July 21 has welcomed large delegations from Canada, Egypt, the USA, Uzbekistan and Russia. David Boudia, gold medallist in the 10m platform event at the London 2012 Summer Olympics and 16-time national champion, has arrived in Kazan as part of the US delegation alongside Kelci Bryant and Abigail Johnston, silver winners in the 3m synchronised springboard event at London 2012. Ilia Zakharov, six-time European champion and gold medallist in the 3m springboard event at the London 2012 Summer Olympics, came to the host city to defend the honour of the Russian national team.

The official training sessions for divers started on July 19, whereas synchronised swimmers and open water swimmers began their practices on July 20. Starting points for training sessions in water polo are July 23, in swimming July 28, in high diving July 31.
