President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin is going to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 16th FINA World Championships. The Russian leader will arrive in Kazan tomorrow.
As the Kremlin press office reported today, Vladimir Putin is also to visit the Kazan Arena Stadium and meet with members of the Russian national team.
Previously Russia's Minister of Sport Vitaly Mutko has highly evaluated the level of sports venues' readiness: “Everything is up to a high standard, very impressive. I can’t wait to participate in this splendid sporting extravaganza.”
The FINA World Championships are going to be held in Russia for the first time ever. The competitions will start on July 24 and finish on August 9. 2,790 athletes representing 190 countries worldwide are going to participate in it.
