Two Tatarstan athletes to fight for Tatfight belt

The audience will see ten matches, including a super fight between fighters from Iran and Russia.

Vice-president of Tatarstan Federation of Combat Self Defense Ivan Platz told reporters during a press conference in Tatar-inform news agency that fights will include several types of martial arts, such as Mix Combat, Oriental Combat, MMA, Pankration and Kyokushin. Fighters from different regions of Russia, as well as Uzbekistan and Iran, will compete.

The Tatafight tournament is to be attended by eight fighters from Tatarstan. Ivan Platz said that the qualifications of the tournament was held in Verkhny Uslon in the Champion sport complex with attendance of more than 40 athletes from Tatarstan.

Executive Director of the Pankration Federation of Tatarstan Rustam Zinatullin added that the qualifications were multi-level, therefore only the best athletes, according to the federation, have booked a spot in the tournament. The tournament judges are also determined by the federation.

Head of Tatarstan branch executive committee of the Russian Union of Martial Arts Aleksandr Darenkov said that rewards of the tournament had remained the same. So, fighters loosed will receive ten thousand rubles, Winners - 20 thousand rubles.

According to Chief of the mass sports and recreation activities department of Tatarstan Ministry of Youth and Sport Stanislav Andreev, the event holding contributes to promotion of different types of martial arts in Tatarstan. By the way, he stressed that the tournament was aimed at identifying young, talented athletes.
