About 150 people take part in ‘I am Tatarstan donor’ activity in Kazan

A regular activity of a republican project, I am Tatarstan donor, was held the second consecutive year with the support of Tatarstan Ministry of Youth and Sports and a regional public organization, Academy of Creative Youth of Tatarstan (ACY).

Mainly, the activity involves active members of the student society, the majority of whom are girls. According to doctors, any blood type is required. Every donor gives 350-450 grams of blood, depending on his weight.

According to the ACY project manager Marat Ismagilov, this is the second event held over the 2015-16 season. Every time it has been organized quite interesting way. For example, this time, there were Halloween pumpkins at the reception desk, animators worked. Guests were treated with cookies, tea and sweets.

To take part in blood donation, you should not eat hearty breakfast, drink alcoholic beverages, take drugs for some day, and eat high-fat products. Arriving to the blood collection point, you should register with a passport, pass rapid blood test, and then obtain a permit or refusal to donate blood.

"We have been cooperating with the event organizers for two years. We have established mutual understanding. Blood is always required, donation is well developed in Tatarstan, involving mainly young people with active civil position, and it's very wonderful, "deputy chief physician on organizational and methodical work of the Republic Blood Center Zulfiya Suleymanova.

Totally, the activity was participated by about 150 people. All donated blood is stored in a special chamber, its components will be used depending on the needs of citizens. The next event will be held, probably, in December. In the 2014-15 academic year, 13 similar events were held in Kazan.
