Russian water polo players get to quarterfinals of European Championship

The Russian water polo team booked a spot in quarterfinals of the 2016 European Championship. In the play-off qualification matches to continue the fight for the awards, the Russian team beat the team of Germany.

Completing the first game segment in a draw 2:2, the Russians took the lead in the second quarter - 5:3 and were able to develop their lead in the third - 7:4. The final siren captured 9:6 on the scoreboard in favor of Erkin Shagaev’s team.

Water polo player of Sintez Kazan Artem Odintsov take part in the competition with the Russian national team.

The Russians will hold the quarterfinal match on January 18 against the reigning world champion - Serbia. The game will define, who reaches the semifinals, the press attache of Sintez Kazan Olga Kamardina informs.
