EMWTC 2016: Germany knocks out Russia in women’s team quarterfinal

The women’s team quarterfinals concluded on Friday, February 19, at the European Badminton Men’s and Women’s Championships in Kazan.

Russia’s quest for the European title has come crashing to a halt with a 3-0 loss to Germany in the quarterfinal match. As for other quarterfinals, that same day the Danish team whitewashed Finland, Spain gained an upper hand over Ukraine and Bulgaria triumphed over Turkey.

With the quarterfinal matches being concluded, the semifinal match-ups are now set. In the men’s team tournament, Denmark is about to face Germany and France will encounter England while in the women’s semis Denmark will again duel Germany and Spain will compete against Bulgaria.
