EMWTC 2016. Semifinal. February 20
Men
Denmark - Germany 3-0
Jan O Jorgensen:
- I know Mark very well; we’ve more than once competed against each other. I knew that it will be extremely important to earn a point in the first game. Germany counted on victory as well and Mark was trying to defeat me although I take one of the leading positions in the world rankings. I wanted to finish the game quickly but it’s not an easy task when you competed against Zwiebler.
We are very happy that we made it to the final. We didn’t expect an easy match; Germany is always a strong competition. However, it’s great that we managed to post a shutout win. As for the final, tomorrow we will go on court and will try to show our best.
France - England 3-2
Women
Spain - Bulgaria 2-3
Denmark - Germany 3-1
Karin Schnaase:
- To be honest, I still don’t understand how I managed to win the first game. I kept struggling, kept running and tried to take advantage of my rival’s mistakes.
Anna Thea Madsen:
- I cannot say that I had my best match today. I had some problems in the game but I tried to eliminate them. I was focused on the fight for each point. We showed teamwork and kept supporting each other.
