The first meeting of the organizing committee for the 2018 FIFA World Cup will take place on March 16 in Russia under the chairmanship of new FIFA President Gianni Infantino. It was reported by Russian Minister of Sports, President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vitaly Mutko.
"At a working session we considered issues of launching volunteer programs. Volunteer recruiting opens in late May through 15 centers, 20,000 volunteers should be trained. 5,000 for the Confederations Cup, the rest for the World Cup. We discussed the preparations for the Confederations Cup drawing, which will be held in Kazan. I reported that the meeting of the organizing committee will be held on March 16, the first under the leadership of Mr. Infantino. It will be dedicated to the preparation for the World Cup, where we will talk about it," RIA Novosti cites Mutko.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will take place from June 14 to July 15 at 12 stadiums in 11 Russian cities: Moscow, Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg.
