GTO complex's interactive display booth opens at sports international exhibition in Moscow

The SPORTS International Exhibition, the largest sports industry exhibition in Russia and the key industry event, kicked off at the Sokolniki Exhibiton and Convention Centre, Moscow on March 23. An interactive display booth dedicated to the GTO Complex was organised at the exhibition by the Sport Ministry of Russia and Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Moscow.

The exhibition was declared open by Deputy Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation, Pavel Chistyakov. On behalf of Sport Minister of Russia, Vitaly Mutko, he cordially greeted exhibitors and wished them to achieve a meaningful dialogue with partners, accomplish all their tasks, strengthen their contacts and reach new achievements in the field of sports and physical education. The Deputy Minister also said that in terms of floor space this year’s exhibition outshone all previous editions. The display booth opening ceremony was attended by 1st Deputy Chief of CSKA and two-time Olympic champion Svetlana Khorkina, Deputy Chief of CSKA and two-time Olympic champion Svetlana Ishmuratova, 1st Deputy Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of Moscow and Olympic champion Nikolay Gulyaev, and Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Ildar Gilmutdinov.

A demo GTO test centre was represented as part of the display booth. During the exhibition days, schoolchildren and exhibition attendees will be able to test there their physical skills and fitness level. Apart from that, the display stand will inform people interested in taking GTO tests and GTO managers of municipal and regional levels about the methodology of implementing the GTO Complex. Deputy Ministers of Sport, Pavel Novikov and Marina Tomilova, were taken on a guided tour of the display booth by Deputy Director General of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, Alexander Karpov.
