The first competition day of the Russian Athletics Junior Championships wrapped up in Kazan.
Day 1 of the national athletics championships ended with the men’s and women’s 3,000 m and 5,000 m events. Andrey Popov of the Zabaykalsky Krai won by a wide margin in the men’s 5,000 m event, while Irina Misharina of the Sverdlovsk Oblast took gold in the women’s 3,000 m final.
