Varvara Subbotina of Russia placed first in the solo preliminary round of the FINA World Junior Synchronised Swimming Championships in Kazan.
The Russian synchro swimmer earned 90.6000 points, finishing ahead of Ukraine’s Yelyzaveta YAKHNO (88.7000) and Japan’s Sakiko AKUTSU (87.4667). The solo final will be held on July 13.
The FINA World Junior Synchronised Swimming Championships take place at the Aquatics Palace, Kazan from July 9 to 13. The five-day competition programme features competitions in such events as solo, duet, group, free combination and figure competition.
