Varvara Subbotina of Russia placed first in the figure competition on the third competition day of the FINA World Junior Synchronised Swimming Championships in Kazan.
Subbotina collected 82.0856 points, finishing ahead of her compatriot, Daria KULAGINA (80.0833) and Spain’s Irene TOLEDANO (79.5878) who settled for the third spot on the podium.
The FINA World Junior Synchronised Swimming Championships take place at the Aquatics Palace, Kazan from July 9 to 13. On Tuesday, medals will be up for grabs in the duet and group events, on Wednesday, in the solo and combination.
