20 regional centres to train volunteers for 19th world festival of youth and students 2017

Regional volunteer centres chosen to train and recruit volunteers for the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students 2017 in Sochi were unveiled today at the All-Russian Volunteer Forum in Saint-Petersburg. Deputy Director General of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, Alexander Karpov, and Anna Zakhmatova, Director of the Volunteers Department at the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects and member of the council for the Association of Volunteer Centres, had also taken part in the work of the judging panel that had selected volunteer training centres for this role. Together with the Association of Volunteer Centres (organisation responsible for the implementation of this programme), the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects will be training volunteers for the upcoming festival.

20 winners (out of 80 candidates) were announced at the presentation of the volunteer programme.

The following official volunteer centres were revealed:

1.   Volunteers of Primorye Regional Youth Non-Governmental Organisation, Vladivostok

2.   Regional Centre of Youth Initiatives Regional Publicly Funded National Institution, Khabarovsk

3.   Volunteer Centre of City of Cheboksary Municipal Youth Non-Governmental Organisation, Cheboksary

4.   Academy of Creative Youth Regional Non-Governmental Organisation, Kazan

5.   Izhevsk State Technical University named after M.T.Kalashnikov, Izhevsk

6.   Volunteering Development Centre Karelian Regional Youth Non-Governmental Organisation, Petrozavodsk

7.   Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V.Lomonosov, Arkhangelsk

8.   Pyatigorsk State University, Pyatigorsk

9.   Tomsk National Research Polytechnic University, Tomsk

10.      Forum Centre of Youth Initiatives Regional State  Autonomous Institution, Krasnoyarsk

11.      Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin, Ekaterinburg

12.      Pioneer Creativity and Sport Palace Autonomous Educational Institution of the Tyumen Oblast, Tyumen

13.      Moscow State Linguistic University, Moscow

14.      I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, Moscow
