The volunteer programme of the WorldSkills Competition 2019 was unveiled today at the All-Russian Volunteer Forum which is held in Saint-Petersburg on October 24-27.
“4,000 young people will take part in the volunteer programme of the upcoming WSI event. Volunteer training centres will be organised in all major industrial cities of Russia. The launch of the campaign is scheduled for early December and meanwhile we are telling about this programme here, at the meeting platform that brings together activists of the Russian volunteer movement. We are very pleased that, standing here today, we get so much great feedback about Kazan and about strong volunteer traditions that have been created there,” Emil Gubaydullin, Head of Administration for the WorldSkills Competition 2019 Preparation, said in his welcome speech.
The forum features more than 1,000 volunteers from all over the country: volunteer activists, youth policy managers overseeing the engagement of young people in volunteer activities in regions of the Russian Federation, regional leaders of the Volunteers of Victory All-Russian Social Movement and Medical Volunteers All-Russian Social Movement, heads of volunteer centres and socially oriented non-profit organisations, leaders of student volunteer associations, finalists of the Volunteer of Russia All-Russian Contest, silver age volunteers and young volunteers.
The two-day educational programme will see the participants address such topics as development of key volunteer spheres in regions of Russia, involvement of volunteers in the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students and the Russian Schoolchildren Movement. Experts will also talk about media support of projects and concept of staging district volunteer forums in 2017.
