“I woke up in time today; I felt great and managed to perform all my dives smoothly. I’m happy that I won; I believed in myself and I succeeded,” the champion revealed the secret of her success.

“It’s always a pleasure to perform in Kazan; there’s a great atmosphere here, a good pool, high-standard event management that enables athletes to show the best results,” Katherine also mentioned.

The British diver’s major rival, Tatyana Stepanova, admitted that she hadn’t expected to win silver of any other podium spot.

Tatyana’s performance today is not the last one – she will also compete in the 3m springboard.

Canada’s Olivia Chamandy rounded out the podium in third with 399.95 points.

Another Russian diver, Ekaterina Nekrasova, who also competed in the 1m springboard event, showed the fifth best result (397.25).
