The volunteer training programme kicked off last weekend. It takes place at the Pribaltiyskaya Hotel, where athletes and members of the international sports federations will be housed.
More than 2,000 people visited the volunteer recruitment centre during the selection events, and only 1,100 candidates were granted an opportunity to become part of the volunteer team for the World Combat Games.
At the invitation of the 2013 World Martial Arts Games Directorate, the volunteer experts embarked on the implementation of the volunteer programme at the stage of the Games recruitment campaign: the most experienced and motivated candidates who had successfully passed the last individual interviews were selected from 6,000 applications in the shortest time (from 23 September to 5 October).
The experts, who were directly involved in the implementation of the volunteer programme of the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan, have gathered this week in St. Petersburg to share their experience with volunteers and to train them for the next major sporting event.
The team of the Volunteer Department of the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate is currently on a two-week visit to St. Petersburg, where the SportAccord World Combat Games will be held from 18 to 26 October.
On Sunday, 29 September, the team gathered at the training base in Novogorsk for doping control tests and medical examination and the following day set off for Kazan where they will have their training camp before the tournament
As the Russian Football Union website reports, this year the Russian U19 team (players born in 1995) took part in three international tournaments and had two friendly matches with Germany, one of the top European teams.
