This February the best badminton players of Europe will come to the capital city of Tatarstan for the European Men’s and Women’s Team Championships and European U15 Championships, which will be held in the Kazan Gymnastics Centre from 13 to 18 February.
26 January 2018 will become a significant date in the history of the volunteer movement in Russia — on this date the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in its third reading the Federal Act "On amendments in certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation on volunteering issues". The legislation aimed to regulate the volunteering movement in Russia was developed by order of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
After the 3-years implementation programme of the Russian National Health and Fitness Programme GTO, 7,2 million people joined the movement.
The the results of activity for 2017 were summed up on 17January at the final panel of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Volga Region State Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism.
The official end-of-year award ceremony of the Physical Culture and Sport National Award winners took place in the Ministry of Sport on 19 December. The GTO complex nomination was introduced for the first time this year. The Directorate for Sports and Social Projects — organisation responsible for implementation of the GTO complex in Russia — became a member of the GTO nomination jury.
The WorldSkills flag flew to the International Space Station on board of the Soyuz MS-07 spaceship that was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome today on 17 December 2017.
On 16 December, the day before the launch of the Soyuz MS-07 spaceship, the cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev was recognized as WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Ambassador during the official initiation ceremony.
For the first time for three years the All-Russian GTO Festival among students gathered participants from all parts of the country. Head of GTO Complex Implementation Department, Deputy Director General of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, Alexander Karpov, told about the Festival results, International Children's Center Artek, and projects for the next year.
The Worldskills Kazan 2019 Volunteer Programme has been presented at the 2nd All-Russian Forum of Student Unions of the educational organizations which took place on 13-15 December in Kazan and brought together more than 250 participants from different Russian regions. The presentation was delivered by Head of the Volunteers Department of the Directorate for Sports and Social Projects, Ayrat Mubarakshin.
The winners of the Open All-Russian WorldSkills Kazan 2019 Volunteer Centre Selection Contest were unveiled during the official closing ceremony of the Volunteers Academy 2017 All-Russian Education Camp.
