Ice battles kicked off early in the morning at the Sport Palace, Kazan. Ten more participants of the World Mixed Curling Championship embarked on a medal hunt at 08:00.
The first matches were played today at the World Mixed Curling Championships in Kazan.
The 2016 World Mixed Curling Championship kickoff press conference was held in the conference hall of the Sport Palace in Kazan just a few minutes before the start of the event’s opening ceremony.
On the threshold of the World Mixed Curling Championship in Kazan, Secretary General of the Russain Curling Federation, Olga Zharkova, and chief icemaker appointed by the World Curling Federation (WCF), Stefan Roethlisberger, met with journalists at the Sport Palace. They shared their expectations of the upcoming tournament due to open tomorrow, October 14, and evaluated the competition venue’s readiness for the event.

Another football lesson, an event aimed at raising awareness about the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, was held today in Kazan. Ekaterina Skulkina, actress, head of Tatarstan’s Four Tatars KVN team and performer of the Comedy Woman TV show, visited Kazan Gymnasium No102. As a Kazan Host City Ambassador for 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™, she met with senior high school students and told them about opportunities that upcoming mega football event offers to them.
On October 11, the 6th Russia – Country of Sports International Sports Forum resumed its work in Vladimir Oblast. The second day of the forum started with a mass race dedicated to the upcoming 19th World Youth and Students Festival in Sochi in 2017.
The 6th Russia – Country of Sports International Sport Forum opened on October 10 in Vladimir Oblast, Russia. A number of events dedicated to implementation of the GTO Complex – panel discussions and sessions – were held at the same time at different places of the forum.
