On the cusp of the 27th Summer Universiade, Kazan Volga Federal University held a student gala called 'Olympic Day', which was attended by members of the Olympic Council of the Republic of Tatarstan, students and athletes competing for the Russian national team at the Games.

The Russian Junior Athletics Championship concluded the series of test competitions held to test vital areas of operation ahead of the Summer Universiade in Kazan. About 15 test events took place in the last half-year alone, with more than 5,000 volunteers participating.

The 27th Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan will be accessible to everyone! Those who did not manage to buy tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Games or to the sporting venues will be able to see the Universiade on TV. The channels Eurosport, Rossiya 2 and TNV have scheduled daily broadcasts of the World University Games, in a manner that is usually done only for the Olympics. The Games will be broadcast in 105 countries. The experts are promising that the quality of the "picture" will be unprecedented for national sports television.
The 5th anniversary edition of the Kremlin Live International Festival of Contemporary Culture will be held in the Kazan Kremlin on June 28 and 29. The organisers of this year's edition - JIVE Group, Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve, and President of Kremlin LIVE and People's Artist of Russia Igor Butman - have quite a few musical and visual treats in store for residents and visitors to Kazan.
There are only few days left before we finally know the name of the winner of the competition for the best song about Kazan and the 27th Summer Universiade. At 10 p.m. on June 28, the NTV channel will show live the concert starring 15 finalists of the Russia, Kazan, Universiade! Contest.

On June 24, the main symbol of the Universiade was welcomed by citizens of Zainsk and Nizhnekamsk. The Universiade Torch Relay became a real celebration of sports and the spirit of youth for the residents of these towns.
45 judges from all over Russia gathered in Kazan to attend the international shooting judges seminar, which is held as part of the host city's preparations for the 2013 Summer Universiade.
The closer the Summer Universiade gets, the more services become available on the premises of the Main International Centre (MIC). A state-of-the-art fitness facility was opened here on June 21.
The Galiaskar Kamal Tatar State Academic Theatre will present seven performances from July 8 to 14 as a part of the Cultural Universiade. These will be shown in several languages simultaneously. The Galiaskar Kamal Theatre is the only theatre in Kazan that will provide simultaneous interpretation of the performance in four languages - Russian, English, Spanish and French.

The final part of Four Days of the Universiade, the large-scale rehearsals designed to simulate the busiest days of this summer's premier university sports event and to test the Games management system's readiness, have concluded in Kazan today, on June 22.
