New buses were on Wednesday ceremonially gifted to junior sport schools in Kazan. President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, gave keys to the brand new Kamaz vehicles to chiefs of establishments.
The main symbol of the 2013 Summer Universiade was warmly welcomed by residents of Saransk, the capital of the Republic of Mordovia. The Flame's arrival in the city coincided with two large holidays - Russia Day and Saransk City Day. Thousands of people packed the streets to greet the Torchbearers throughout the entire length of the Torch Relay with the celebrations culminating in a dancing flash mob involving about 700 local citizens.

On 9 June, citizens of the capital city of the Mari El Republic welcomed the main symbol of the World University Games – the Universiade Flame. Yoshkar-Ola has become the 22nd city of the Russian leg of the Universiade Torch Relay. 28 Torchbearers carried the main symbol of the World University Games along the streets and squares of Mari El's capital and lit the City Cauldron in Yoshkar-Ola.

On June 6th, with exactly one month to go before the opening of the Summer Universiade in Kazan, the main symbol of the World University Games was welcomed by citizens of Izehevsk, the capital of the Udmurt Republic. The people of Izhevsk welcomed the Universiade Torch Relay team with traditional Udmurtian baked goods and folk dances.
The All-Russian Football Competitions for Universities of the Volga Federal District will take place in Kazan on June 7-11. 8 football teams from Samara, Saransk, Orenburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, Kazan and Izhevsk are expected to come together to compete for the trophy. The matches will take place at two football stadiums - Trudovye Rezervy and Olymp.
The Universiade Museum – a unique project of the FISU International Education Centre (FISU IEC) and the Kazan 2013 Executive Directorate, that is going to become part of the 27th Summer Universiade Legacy – is rapidly expanding its collection. The National University Sports Federations, Kazan 2013 Ambassadors and staff of the Executive Directorate have been contributing to the creation of the museum.

The Torch Relay of the 27th Summer Universiade arrived in Perm on 5 June. 68 Torchbearers carried the main symbol of the World University Games along the city streets and squares and lit the City Cauldron at the Esplanade.
