The 27th Summer Universiade Flame was delivered to Russia's Western border last night on an airplane from Yekaterinburg. Kaliningrad is the ninth city on the Universiade Torch's epic journey on Russian soil. Oleg Kosenkov, the Minister of Sport of the Kaliningrad Region, met the Universiade Flame at the airport in Kaliningrad.
The Flame of the 27th World University Summer Games has arrived in Tyumen, the oldest city of Siberia, on May 17. It will be the 7th city for the Universiade Torch Relay to pass through on Russian soil.
On 13 May, the train carrying the team of the 27th Summer Universiade Torch Relay sets off on its epic journey to the Games. The intervals between cities will now become shorter; the Flame will stay in each city only a few days before moving on to a new destination.
