The 27th Summer Universiade Flame was delivered to Russia's Western border last night on an airplane from Yekaterinburg. Kaliningrad is the ninth city on the Universiade Torch's epic journey on Russian soil. Oleg Kosenkov, the Minister of Sport of the Kaliningrad Region, met the Universiade Flame at the airport in Kaliningrad.

The Flame of the 27th World University Summer Games has arrived in Tyumen, the oldest city of Siberia, on May 17. It will be the 7th city for the Universiade Torch Relay to pass through on Russian soil.

The 27th Summer Universiade 2013 Torch Relay in Novosibirsk starts off in a matter of hours: the city and its residents are actively preparing for the event. The Universiade Torch Relay in Novosibirsk will very soon travel through the city's largest universities, and it will be greeted by thousands of students and residents of the Siberian capital.

An airplane with Russian champions, the Dinamo Kazan volleyball team, at about 5 am landed in Kazan’s airport. The team on Sunday with a score of 3:3 won over their namesake Moscow rivals.

On 13 May, the train carrying the team of the 27th Summer Universiade Torch Relay sets off on its epic journey to the Games. The intervals between cities will now become shorter; the Flame will stay in each city only a few days before moving on to a new destination.

With 54 days to go to the Summer Universiade in Kazan, the State Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Tatarstan an exhibition dedicated to the upcoming 27th World University Summer Games in the halls of the Khazine National Art Gallery.

Alen Khairullin and Pavel Grachev, two bicycle tourists from Kazan who embarked on an epic cycle trip almost six months ago, are finally back on home soil this weekend. As the press office of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan reports, as of today the cyclists have travelled large distances and crossed Europe from Latvia to Portugal, North America from the East Coast to West Coast, and visited such large cities as Beijing and Harbin in China.

The accreditation process for senior management teams of Tatarstan's institutions of higher education and specialised secondary education establishments has come to an end. Ilshat Gafurov, Rector of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, was last to get accredited for the Games.

Four mobile inspection and examination complexes will be delivered in Kazan in early June to control cargoes arriving in the capital of Tatarstan during the 2013 Summer Universiade. This announcement was made by Maksim Chmora, First Deputy Head of the Customs Service of the Republic of Tatarstan, on Monday, April 29.
