The event is timed to coincide with the holding of Russia Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup in Kazan. A long-awaited event, the opening of a Gymnastics Centre and Russian rhythmic gymnastics group championship, on Wednesday took place in Kazan.

The official competition opening, attended by President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation president and Russian national team head coach, Irina Viner-Usmanova, and others, took place on Thursday as well.

“I and Irina Viner agreed earlier we would time the centre’s opening to coincide with the national tournament,” Tatarstan youth affairs, sport and tourism minister Rafis Burganov said. “We did not discuss which one in particular then, because you cannot predict a precise end-of-construction date. We agreed that both the Russia Rhythmic Gymnastics Cup and the championship would be held on the date.”

Russia’s best artistic gymnasts have gathered in Kazan.Two tournaments, simultaneous exercises national championship and Russia Artistic Gymnastics Cup, are under way in Kazan, on the grounds of a new Gymnastics Centre.

The 15th Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo Archeologico, a trade fair dedicated to archaeological tourism, will be held from 15 to 18 November 2012 in Paestum (Salerno). It also is supported by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry for Cultural Assets and Activities, the World Tourism Organisation, UNESCO and the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), and is being sponsored by the Ministry for Tourism.

The second day of the 7th Congress of Tatarstan Students began from a presentation of achievements and projects of the Tatarstan Student League. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov was briefed on the projects run by the league, as well as its main achievements.

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with U.N. Senior Counsellor for Human Rights in Russia Richard Komenda. The meeting was held at the Tatarstan Government House with participation of the Tatarstan Commissioner for Human Rights Sariya Saburskaya, Minister of culture Airat Sibagatullin, Chief of the RT Presidential Department for domestic issues Aleksandr Terentiev.

A world weight lifting championship on 4-10 November took place in the Israeli town of Eilat. The list of student participants included three representatives from Tatarstan, Artyom Okulov, Dmitry Khomiakov and Gennady Muratov.
Interest towards Kazan among foreign tourists has increased significantly in recent years. Visitors from abroad are attracted by the dynamic changes in the infrastructure of Tatarstan's capital, its rich history, as well as the mixture of cultures and religions. However, the high potential of Russian cities should be augmented by affordable prices and easier visa procedures. All this was said at a press conference given by the Russian delegation at the world's largest tourism exhibition “World Travel Market”.
The Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev has met with Senior Counsellor of Mitsui Strategic Studies Institute Takehiro Togo (Japan, Tokyo).Takehiro Togo has visited Tatarstan several times and met with Mintimer Shaimiev as the Japanese Ambassador to the Russian Federation and Senior Counsellor of Mitsui Strategic Studies Institute.


The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), in collaboration with the Marketing&International Cooperation Department of China National Tourism Administration and the ASEAN-China Centre, will organize the 2nd China Responsible Tourism Forum (CRTF) on November 16, 2012 at the Parkview Hotel in Shanghai, China.

President of Tatarstan R. Minnikhanov on Wednesday met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Russia Djauhari Oratmangun, the presidential press service reports. The meeting took place at the Kazan Kremlin, other officials representing Tatarstan being culture minister Airat Sibagatullin, youth affairs, sport and tourism minister Rafis Burganov and others.
